KIM HANKINSON

Kim Hankinson’s publishing career has included designing, illustrating, writing and art directing children’s books. She loves facts, play, good composition, communicating ideas, and when good design brings collaborators together.

Titles she’s designed and art directed have been winners of The Royal Society Prize, the Blue Peter Prize and the British Design and Production Awards. 

2020 was spent as Art Director for an educational children’s publisher, self-publishing a book with a friend to help children discuss lockdown anxieties, and seeing the eco-fashion title Fashion Conscious, which she pitched to Egmont in 2018 finally launched. Kim is also making large scale artworks outside of children’s books after refreshing her skills in Hackneys Print Club earlier this year.

As an independent freelancer of 5 years, Kim loves the variety in her work and meeting new creatives. She’s finds London a constant source of inspiration.
